Threadbenders Guild serves Union and Baker County in Eastern Oregon . Our guild began in 1979 currently has 20 members. Membership dues are $20 per year, which entitle members to the monthly newsletter, supplies used in some programs and to use guild equipment, and check books out from the extensive cataloged guild library.
Monthly meetings occur on the 3rd Saturday of each month between September and June each year. We welcome visitors and guests. Our meetings focus on a monthly program and show and tell. The program schedule is set at the beginning of each season (fall). Programs include a variety of fiber arts, dyeing, weaving techniques, and studies in weave structure. The guild business is run by a smaller executive committee that meets quarterly and reports proposal and actions at the monthly meeting.
During August we have an annual “Weaving in the Woods” campout. Sometimes referred to as “wild women in the woods,” the campout is for 5 days and 4 nights, with a variety of fiber arts programs.
