Whonnock Weavers & Spinners Guild – Out of the Woods Exhibit

Out of the Woods
SEPT 8-OCT 27,2018
Maple Ridge, BC

This exhibition encompasses the full scope of the development of textiles, as objects of utility, adornment and pure self-expression. And, while many fabric processes have evolved through technical innovation and global economies, the appreciation for original hand-wrought processes lives on. Formed in 1974, The Whonnock Weavers and Spinners Guild has deep roots in the community of Maple Ridge, and a reputation for excellence in both traditional and innovative textile formats. The theme of their exhibition is allied to the upcoming Textile Society of America’s symposium, which will take place in Vancouver from September 19 – 23.
